Cassette of unknown lineage/PC/Soundforge/You
A used record store near me recently got in a milk crate full of Grateful Dead live cassettes they were selling for five bucks each, four bucks if you bought three or more, three bucks of you bought six or more. About two thirds of them were very poorly labeled, often only having the city and year on them while others had type written inserts with track listings, venue and date. I fished out the shows that were regional, thinking they may be lower generation since they were shows from nearby, along with a couple of older 1970 shows I was not familiar with. After seeding a Jerry solo show that turned out to be a previous unknown fourth source I started to check out some of the other tapes I purchased and found out there were some potentially uncirculated or upgrade recordings there.
This one appears to be a different source from the one presently available on Archives. To my ears it sounds brighter and clearer. Perhaps lower generation or a different source altogether. I would be interested in hearing feedback about it, as the Dead beyond 1970 is largely a mystery to me.
